Dr. North and Ms. Shipley worked together at Hopkins for several years publishing the results of Dr. North’s research and consulting on research protocols. When Dr. North retired from Hopkins in 2007 to pursue an opportunity elsewhere, Ms. Shipley also retired, and Dr. North created the Neuromodulation Foundation with the support of Dr. Donlin Long and current Vice President J. Peter Gaskins. This enabled Dr. North and Ms. Shipley to continue their fruitful collaboration, which expanded to include additional activities described on our Projects link.
The Board wishes to acknowledge with gratitude the unwavering support of the late Dr. Donlin Long, who served as Vice President of The Neuromodulation Foundation from its inception in 2007 until his death in September 2023.
